Cocoa is a five-year-old chihuahua mix who came to Open Door Animal Sanctuary when her people were unable to provide basic care for her. Shortly after her arrival, she began to show signs of paralysis in her back end. A neurology consult and an MRI showed a herniated disc in her spine and she needs surgery right away to correct it.
Cocoa is a happy, healthy, friendly, and active small dog who could have a beautiful life ahead of her. She loves to cuddle and make friends and she LOVES going for walks. The bill for her care is currently sitting at a whopping $9,000. We are a completely donation-based nonprofit animal shelter, so we depend on help from people like you to be able to provide dogs like Cocoa with the lifesaving help they need!
Let's get Cocoa walking again so that she can be adopted and finally begin to live the good, spoiled, healthy and happy life that she so deserves.
