Program
This evening’s performance celebrates the breadth of the orchestral tradition, guiding listeners through a diverse range of musical eras and emotional landscapes. From the structured brilliance of the classical period to the bold, experimental sounds of the modern age, the program highlights the versatility and artistic maturity of our young musicians across our four programs.
The concert begins with a focus on precision and atmosphere, moving from elegant, timeless melodies to the evocative rhythms of the 20th century. The finale scales the heights of the orchestral repertoire. Listeners will be swept through the lush, emotional landscapes of Tchaikovsky’s most beloved ballets and tragedies. The evening concludes with a powerful contrast: the mythical intensity of Stravinsky’s Firebird and the bustling, jazz-inflected charm of Gershwin’s An American in Paris.
