Join Dr. Barry Zuckerman and Dr. Tessa Bry Taylor for a TENT Talk regarding the many changes in children's lives in health, education and upbringing since the end of WWII. Reviewing the impacts of technology, media, and healthcare - including the good, the bad, and the ugly - we will consider the question, should we do anything about them, if so what?

Dr. Barry Zuckerman is Professor and Chair Emeritus of the Department of Pediatrics at Boston University School of Medicine/Boston Medical Center. He is a co-founder of Reach Out and Read, a national childhood literacy program in the United States, founder of Medical-Legal Partnership, and founder of Healthy Leads and Healthy Steps, and all of which have transformed pediatric care. Most recently, along with colleagues, he developed a free app for pediatric primary care called "Small Moments, Big Impact" to promote the mother-infant relationship and emotional well-being for mothers from birth through the first six months of their baby's life. The author of over 250 scientific publications addressing the importance of mothers' health and well-being on child health and development, starting with pregnancy, and recipient of many awards . Dr. Zuckerman has also consulted globally for UNICEF in Turkey, Serbia and Bangladesh as well as universities Poland, Singapore, Norway and Taiwan.
Dr. Tessa Bry-Taylor is an accomplished leader in education with twenty years of experience in the intersection of education, culture, and community. Tessa has served as an arts educator supporting youth and adult learners in a variety of settings in the United States and abroad, and has held positions in educational leadership in NYC, Boston and the Outer Cape. She currently serves as Assistant Principal of the Provincetown International Baccalaureate Schools and resides in Wellfleet with her husband, Nathaniel and daughters, Maeve and Willa. Tessa holds a PhD in Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA and is an alumni of New York University and University of Minnesota.
