Carol Rose is the Executive Director of the ACLU of Massachusetts, a nonpartisan member-supported organization that uses litigation, legislation, communications and organizing to promote civil rights and defend civil liberties. Attorney Rose is a graduate of Stanford University (BSc) cum laude, the London School of Economics (MSc), and Harvard Law School (JD) cum laude, where she was co-editor of the Harvard Human Rights Journal.
Donna Lieberman has been the executive director of the New York Civil Liberties Union since December 2001. She also founded the NYCLU’s Reproductive Rights Project. During her tenure, the NYCLU has grown to over 185,000 members, with 8 offices around the state, and become the state’s leading voice for freedom, justice and equality, especially for those whose rights are most at risk: people of color, young people, and low-income New Yorkers.
Martin Garbus has been hailed as one of the nation's premier First Amendment attorneys harking back to his trial defense of Lenny Bruce. The Guardian called him "one of the nation's finest trial lawyers." His books include Tough Talk: How I Fought for Writers, Comics, Bigots and the American Way.
