About This Event
Join us for an inspiring workshop where young people will explore the power of activism through the story of Indian Youth Against Racism (IYAR) and create their own protest posters!
What You'll Do:
-
Discover the history of IYAR's fight against hate in 1980s Jersey City
-
Learn how youth activism changed laws and transformed communities
-
Explore persuasive design strategies used in historic protest movements
-
Design and create your own activist poster to take home
Who Should Attend: Middle school and high school students (grades 6-12) interested in social justice, history, art, and making a difference in their community
What to Expect: This hands-on workshop combines storytelling, discussion, and creative design. You'll learn about invisibility, resistance, and the legacy of youth activism—then put these lessons into action by creating your own powerful message for change.

-
Pizza and snacks
