About the Project

We believe that play is an essential part of growing up—and it’s not just about fun, it’s about building skills that last a lifetime. Our playground has been a vital part of our educational programming, helping students develop social, play and motor skills that they’ll use in all aspects of their lives. But after 18 years of service, it's time to upgrade our playground to ensure safety, inclusivity, and fun for all our students!

The Need for a New Playground

Our current playground is no longer adequate for the growing and diverse needs of our students with autism. Here are the key challenges:

  • Worn-out equipment
  • Limited space and equipment, limiting playtime and developmental opportunities.
  • Shredded rubber mulch surface that is uneven, creating divots with each step, which makes it hard to navigate. This poses a safety risk, especially for students who might ingest the mulch or have mobility challenges.

Help us create the playground students deserve—a place full of possibilities! Please consider donating below.

Our Vision for the New Playground

The new playground will be a spacious, inclusive space designed to support the developmental needs of students with autism. Key features of the new playground will include:

  • Updated Equipment: Safe, durable, and larger structures that accommodate various developmental needs.
  • More Space: Ample room for more students to play simultaneously, fostering social interaction and peer engagement.
  • Inclusive Surfacing: Smooth, Poured-in-Place Rubber surface that ensures safe navigation for all students.
  • Developmental Features: A designated area for bike riding, simulated road safety education area, and more space for physical activity such as basketball.
