About This Event
Tepeyac Leadership's Leadership for the World is a bold $2,000,000 mission campaign to be completed over the next three years. This initiative will expand and strengthen the formation of lay Catholic leaders who are called to serve in the public square with clarity, courage, and faith.
A Crisis of Leadership in the Public Square
When Catholics withdraw from positions of influence, those spaces do not remain neutral. They are filled by other voices and values. The erosion of truth in media, politics, business, and culture reflects a deeper crisis in moral leadership. Tepeyac Leadership believes the Church’s response must include well formed lay men and women prepared to witness in the arenas where decisions shape society.
Through Leadership for the World, donors and partners will help raise up a new generation of lay Catholic leaders whose influence will extend to school boards, courtrooms, city halls, nonprofit boards, and corporate offices across the globe. These leaders will be formed, emboldened, and sent to serve the common good with integrity and excellence.
After completing the TLI program, I find myself in front of a serious commitment and responsibility, towards myself, society, the Church, and the whole world, said Andrew Mouawad, a Tepeyac Leader.
A Vision for Renewal
Civil society was once grounded in a basic moral consensus, respect for life, commitment to the family, honesty in public service, and care for the vulnerable. Today, those foundations are increasingly fragile. In education, healthcare, public policy, and cultural institutions, the need for principled leadership has never been greater.
Yet in the United States and beyond, there is little infrastructure dedicated to forming lay Catholics for leadership in civil society. While many programs exist for clergy and parish ministry, few prepare lay professionals to serve effectively in boardrooms, legislative chambers, media platforms, and civic institutions.
The Leadership for the World campaign addresses that gap directly. By investing in formation, donors equip lay Catholics with the intellectual grounding, spiritual depth, and practical skills necessary to lead with confidence and fidelity.
TLI has had a profound impact on my life, helping me grow both spiritually and personally. I am committed to sharing the Good News and being a disciple of Jesus in the social media and marketing fields, said Dorota Drab, a Tepeyac Leader.
Three Platforms, One Mission
Campaign funds will support three high impact platforms already bearing fruit:
- Tepeyac Leadership Initiative has formed 411 leaders (500 by June 2026) through an intensive program that integrates Catholic social teaching, leadership development, and professional excellence.
- The Hour of the Laity has gathered 500+ participants from across the globe for formation, networking, strategic planning and deep engagement rooted in Catholic social doctrine.
- The Catholic Professional, an online publication, has published 1,095 articles offering inspiration, formation, and practical resources to Catholics navigating secular environments.
Together, these platforms are building a growing network of leaders committed to bringing faith into the public square, one decision at a time.
My commitment is to serve as a missionary in the political arena of my state by demonstrating a genuine Christian approach to engaging in the political process, said Phillip Jacobs, a Tepeyac Leader.
Two Bold Goals for the Next Three Years
The $2,000,000 campaign is structured around two primary objectives:
- Ignite the Mission. Fifty percent of funds will expand the reach of Tepeyac Leadership by growing the team, launching programing in new cities and dioceses, offering formation in Spanish and Portuguese, strengthening digital infrastructure, expanding The Hour of the Laity in America, and launching The Hour of the Laity in Europe.
- Secure the Future. The remaining fifty percent will establish an endowment fund to ensure long term sustainability and provide scholarships so that financial constraints never prevent a future leader from being formed.
Real Lives, Real Impact
Graduates are already stepping into leadership roles across sectors.
I commit to serving as a lay Catholic leader by joining the board of a local nonprofit focused on strengthening families and education, said Tepeyac Leader, Joseph Peter Slaga.
I will serve the common good via political and cultural engagement, continuing with Labora Association to live and apply Catholic Social Doctrine in public life, said Tepeyac Leader, Giovanni Negri.
A Moment of Decision
Every year that passes without intentional formation is another year in which Catholic professionals enter civic life unequipped to lead with faith. Every leadership seat left empty is filled by someone else.
The timeline is three years. The impact is eternal.
Tepeyac Leadership invites donors, alumni, and friends to take their place in this mission. The need is urgent. The opportunity is historic. The call to lead is now.
