About This Event

Museum Club: Cantor Arts Center, Stanford University

 July 11 at 10:30 a.m.

Free!

Serving Stanford University and the greater Bay Area, the Cantor's collections include more than 38,000 works of art, spanning 5,000 years of history and crossing continents from the Americas to Europe, and from Africa to Asia. Cantor boasts the largest collection of Auguste Rodin sculptures in the world outside of Paris. We will view the sculpture garden and exhibit halls and have a casual lunch afterwards in Palo Alto.

Special exhibit includes  JANE! An intimate exploration of Gilded Age excess and the enigmatic life and death of Jane Stanford. From her elegant French gowns to a colossal painting of her jewels, from the Egyptian artifacts she acquired to a Hawaiian skirt purchased immediately before her suspicious death, Jane! presents various idiosyncratic artifacts of Stanford lore—many shown for the very first time, and very likely for the last.
