More about the Venue: Built in 1917 by beer baron August A. Busch Sr., the site now operates as a beautifully restored biergarten, restaurant, and event venue featuring architectural showpieces like its iconic 60-foot windmill.

History & Architecture

  • The Origin: The mill was built as a lavish rest stop between the Anheuser-Busch brewery and Busch's Grant's Farm estate.
  • The Name: It is named after "Bevo," a wildly popular, non-alcoholic malt beverage that Busch produced during Prohibition.
  • Quirky Details: The interior is loaded with whimsical, old-world features, including 10,000 square feet of original Rookwood tile, hand-carved wooden gnomes from the 1896 Paris World's Fair, and 1890s hand-painted tile murals from Berlin
