What is Birches Day of Giving?

It’s a powerful, 24-hour online fundraising event that is designed to build community, connect donors and generate excitement about The Birches.
 

How much are we trying to raise?

Our initial goal is $50,000. 

What will we do with the money? 

Every dollar we raise on this day directly supports our students and teachers, celebrates our mission, and secures our future. This includes:

• Smaller student/teacher ratio, providing individualized learning environment for every student

• STEAM-based curriculum

• Enrichment programs; Art, Music, Spanish & Physical Education

• Sustainability for our future, including our facilities

When does this take place? 

Birches Day of Giving is a 24-hour period spanning from June 11th-12th.

ABOUT US

In 2011, eleven visionary women came together in search of an alternative education for their children — and a mission was born. Their passion and persistence led to the founding of The Birches Academy, which opened its doors in 2012 with just 88 students.

Today, as we approach the end of our 13th academic year, The Birches Academy is home to 290 students and proud to be recognized as a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School.

In June 2024, we planted even deeper roots by purchasing our building and expanding our space by 12,000 square feet — a milestone that marks both our progress and the promise of what’s to come.

Phase 2 of our expansion is on the horizon, and with your support, we’ll continue to grow a school where creativity, curiosity, and community flourish.

The Birches Academy of Academics and Art is a publicly funded, K-8 charter school located in Salem, NH serving 14+ communities in southern New Hampshire. As a public school, there is no cost for any New Hampshire student to attend.                                                                         

We are dedicated to offering the highest quality education, preparing today’s children for tomorrow by utilizing technology, flexible, out-of-the-box concepts and challenging each student at their own learning level. However, without sufficient funding, we need to do more with less.

NH charter schools are funded at only 50% of traditional public schools, one of the lowest rates in the country.
