The history of Princeton is saturated with faithful Christians who have left a profound and often underappreciated inheritance. Coverdale House is offering this four-week online seminar, open to all Princeton University alumni. It will walk through some of the major Christian thinkers who taught, researched, or studied at Princeton University or Princeton Theological Seminary. The seminar will march through primary source readings from John Witherspoon, Charles Hodge, John Williamson Nevin, B. B. Warfield, Jacques Maritain, Ernest Gordon and Peter Brown.
For participants interested in continuing on, a similar seminar will run in spring on present Christian scholarship at Princeton. This second seminar (spring 2027) will focus on four current professors at Princeton University whose work is shaped by their Christian faith, giving participants an opportunity to learn about and share in the intellectual projects of Christian professors at Princeton University right now.
The seminar will be led by John Ahern (PhD, Princeton University, 2024), Director of Coverdale House. It will also feature the following guest teachers:

Mark Noll, Professor Emeritus of History, University of Notre Dame, author of The Scandal of the Evangelical Mind

Kellen Funk, Professor of Law at Columbia Law School (PhD, Princeton University)

Margarita Mooney Clayton, Associate Professor, Princeton Theological Seminary (PhD, Princeton University)
Expectations: Seminar participants will be given readings ahead of time and will be invited to discuss with each other, with the instructor, and with the guest teacher.
Registration: capped at 15.
Registration fee: Early bird discount rate is $300 until Sep 11. $400 is standard registration. (Note: we get next to nothing out of this fee; it is mainly for you, so you have skin in the game and feel compelled to participate. Please contact if it is a hardship.)
Schedule: The seminars will be the Tuesday evenings of Oct 6, Oct 20, Nov 3, and Nov 17. The seminars will last 2 hours and 15 minutes.
