Presented by Pacifica Christian High School-Orange County

250 Years of Liberty: The American Experiment

About This Event

Pacifica Christian High School invites you to the next installment of The Great Conversation—a special lecture with featured speaker, Dr. Charles R. Kesler, marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and the enduring American experiment it set in motion.

In 2026, our nation will reach a historic civic milestone that invites grand celebration. Join us as we reflect on the following questions: What did 1776 assert about the human person, liberty, and self-government? What has that promise produced—at its best—and what does it require of us now?

The Great Conversation is honored to host Dr. Charles R. Kesler, the Dengler-Dykema Distinguished Professor of Government at Claremont McKenna College, a Senior Fellow of the Claremont Institute, and longtime Editor of the Claremont Review of Books. Dr. Kesler is a leading scholar of American constitutionalism and political thought—and an author and editor of major works on the American founding and the regime it established, including The Crisis of the Two Constitutions, I Am the Change, Saving the Revolution: The Federalist Papers and the American Founding, as well as an influential edition of The Federalist Papers.
