The class provides a clinical overview of trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in children and adolescents. Learn how trauma alters brain development, behavior, attachment, and emotional regulation, and how to respond in ways that promote safety and stabilization rather than escalation.
This class is designed to equip parents, caregivers, and community members with knowledge, confidence, and real-life strategies — not fear. Let’s stay informed and proactive together. Also, Huddle classes are approved for foster parent training and provide 2 hours of credited learning, equipping you with practical tools and meaningful support for your journey.
Instructor: Jenifer Sturdivan, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor and equine-assisted psychotherapist. She leads the equine-assisted therapy program, Healing Reins, at Dogwood Ranch.
