50th Anniversary Gala

Join us for our 50th Anniversary Gala!

Held on our beautiful Keystone Science School campus at the height of summer, this spectacular evening will celebrate KSS and our 50 years of inspiring curiosity, changing lives, and strengthening our community.

Guests will begin the night with a self-guided tour around campus, featuring stops for curated cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, engaging science demonstrations, educational program stations, partner stations like Nature's Educators, and special glimpses into KSS’ rich history. These moments are designed to be interactive, inspiring, and reflective of the programs that have shaped generations of youth.

Then, gather in the heart of the KSS campus, where you’ll enjoy live music, a three-course gourmet plated dinner inspired by seasonal Colorado produce, and an evening of music and dancing under the stars. During dinner, guests will hear stories of the impact Keystone Science School has had on campers and students, and will have the opportunity to help fund our next chapter during a paddle raise. After dinner, take a break from the festivities to stargaze in our observatory led by AstroMark.

This celebration offers a truly unique opportunity to experience Keystone Science School at its very best. What better way to honor 50 years of learning, curiosity, and community!

Event Schedule
5:00 PM – Doors Open
5:00–6:30 PM – Self-Guided Campus Tours, Cocktail Hour & Hors d’Oeuvres
5:30–6:45 PM – Live Music by Moonstone Quill
6:45–8:15 PM – Locally Inspired Three-Course Dinner
8:15–10:00 PM – Live Music & Dancing

This is an adults only event. The dress code is Mountain Formal. Not all paths are paved, so we recommend shoes that do well on variable surfaces. This is an outdoor event, with tents and indoor spaces available for guests.

This year the 50th Anniversary Fundraising Gala will take the place of Sipping for Science. For those who love our annual Sipping for Science event, not to worry, it will return next year!

Learn about Our Event Chef: Graze and Torreys

Chef Alyssa has always had a lifelong passion for art and cooking. As a child, she would watch Alton Brown on the Food Network in her mother’s kitchen, turning it into her personal science lab as she experimented with cooking techniques and recipes. Throughout her life, she honed her talents in painting, drawing, cooking, and sculpture.

In 2013, Alyssa graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design with a BFA, but her yearning for cooking never faded. She decided to invest everything she had into starting her own food cart business, Native Eats, which began in Columbus, Ohio. It quickly gained traction at farmers markets, festivals, and especially at Seventh Son Brewery, where her brand really took off.

With a drive to learn, Alyssa packed up her food cart and moved west. There, she refined her craft, holding various chef positions, including Executive Chef at Shadow Creek Ranch in Silverthorne and Sous Chef at Mountain Standard in Vail. After a decade of professional cooking, Native Eats evolved into Graze & Torreys in 2020, where she now caters and provides private chef services throughout Denver, the Vail Valley, and Summit County.

Alyssa is an open-minded, lifelong learner who credits her success to the education she received from working alongside many talented chefs. She believes her art degree has fueled her creativity and willingness to break the rules in the kitchen. Outside of cooking, she enjoys the mountains through snowboarding and hiking, teaches Hatha yoga, and forages for wild mushrooms.
