Friday, May 29, from 10:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Member Price: $150
Non-Member Price: $200

We'll begin the day with a tour of Toshiko Takaedefault copy.jpgzu: Dialogues in Clay with exhibition curator (and the Museum's Chief Curator) Juliana Ochs Dweck. Reflecting the groundswell of interest in the cerammiast that has been steadily increasing over the last decade, Dweck's installation "explores the artist’s experimental practice, including her signature “closed” forms and painterly glazing," and ultimately posutiuons her as "one of the most important ceramic artists of the twentieth century."

For lunch there are a variety of options to choose from, including the Museum's own Mosaic Café or one of many establishements in Princeton which is about a 9 minute walk from the Museum.

default.jpgIn the afternoon we will tour the new installation of the American collection with curator Karl Kusserow, the John Wilmerding Curator of American Art. Dr. Kusserow–who some of you may remember from a presentation he did for the Stickley Museum on the 1972 Arts and Crafts show at Princeton–will give us insight into the choices he and the staff made, discuss the museum's important Arts and Crafts Holdings, and talk about the themes of his own scholarship on the American landscape.

Following the tours you'll have time on your own. You can explore the museum at your leisure, visit outdoor public art, or spend time in the galleries with our Executive Director Dr. Jonathan Clancy who has been visiting and exploring this collection for decades.

Additional Information:

Travel fee includes a tour of the Toshiko Takaezu Exhibit with exhibition curator and the Museum’s Chief Curator, Juliana Ochs Dweck, a viewing of the American collection with Karl Kusserow, the Museum’s John Wilmerding Curator of American Art, as well as time to explore the museum at your leisure.
