Eve of the Dead Dinner

Join us for an intimate evening exploring the meaning, traditions, and artistry behind the altars created for Día de Muertos.

Levine Museum and the Latin American Coalition presents the Eve of the Dead, a special dinner and cultural experience designed to accompany our annual Día de Muertos program on November 1st. Enjoy an evening of Mexican cuisine while learning about one of the most recognizable and meaningful traditions associated with Día de Muertos: the altar, or ofrenda.

The evening will feature a short presentation from an expert on Día de Muertos altars who will explain the why and the how behind creating an altar. Learn about the significance of photographs, candles, flowers, food, personal objects, and other elements commonly included on an ofrenda, as well as the cultural and familial traditions behind them.

Enjoy an authentic Mexican dinner throughout the evening and experience an intimate evening to learn and connect.
