Unique Retirement CLE

Registration has ended

About This Event

Join us for an insightful and practical CLE exploring the unique retirement issues that often arise in family law cases, including the division of military pensions, treatment of retirement accounts, and loans taken against retirement assets. This two-hour session will provide family law practitioners with a clear understanding of how to identify, value, and equitably divide these complex assets—while avoiding common pitfalls in settlement and decree drafting.

Presenters:
Erin Byington & Kelli Larson

Erin E. Byington became an attorney in 2011 after earning her J.D. from the University of Utah. She has extensive experience in family law, probate, government employee and military personnel issues, and commercial litigation. Erin’s mediation and arbitration background began during law school and has continued throughout her career, where she has participated in hundreds of hearings and multiple bench and jury trials. Her practical knowledge and broad litigation experience make her a valuable voice in discussions on family and juvenile law practice.

Kelli Larson has practiced exclusively in family law since graduating from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 2008. She currently leads the Family Law Department at Pearson Butler, where she is known for her client-focused approach and mentorship of paralegals and new attorneys. Kelli’s practice includes divorce, custody, adoption, guardianship, and surrogacy matters, and she has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star and one of Utah’s Legal Elite.
