Birding with TRGT
Join is on May 22, 2026 for a bird watching hike in the Tennessee River Gorge at Williams Island! Birding is an excellent way to enjoy the outdoors by observing the diversity of birds for which our region is widely known. There are over 100 species we could potentially encounter while birding in the Gorge.

Ages: 12 and up
Meeting Location: Suck Creek Boat Ramp (just upstream and across the street from the River Drifters Restaurant at 1925 Suck Creek Rd. Chattanooga, TN)
Participants will meet TRGT staff at the Suck Creek Boat Ramp to ride our boat to Williams Island.

Please bring your own water, wear weather appropriate clothing, and close toe hiking boots or shoes. Please wear shoes you can get a little muddy or wet, such as waterpoof hiking shoes or rubber boots. Also, we highly encourage you to bring a pair of binoculars if you have them! TRGT will have binoculars if you are not able to bring your own.
