Birding with TRGT
Join is on May 29, 2026 for a bird watching hike in the Tennessee River Gorge at the Aetna Mountain Trails! Birding is an excellent way to enjoy the trails by observing the diversity of birds for which our region is widely known. There are over 100 species we could potentially encounter while birding in the Gorge.

Time: 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM EST

Ages: 12 and up
Meeting Location: The Aetna Mountain Trails parking lot off of River Gorge Dr.
Participants will meet TRGT at the trailhead parking lot for a hike on the Aetna Mountain Trails.

Please bring your own water, wear weather appropriate clothing, and closed toed hiking boots or shoes. We will be hiking approximately 4 miles total, including hiking uphill. Also, we highly encourage you to bring a set of binoculars if you have any! TRGT will have binoculars if you are not able to bring your own.
