Presented by Tennessee River Gorge Trust

Edwards Point Eaglet Watch - March 13, 2026

About This Event

Birding with TRGT

Join us on March 13, 2026 for a specific excursion to view Bald Eagle chicks in the Tennessee River Gorge! Birding is an excellent way to enjoy the outdoors by observing the diversity of birds for which our region is widely known. There are over 100 species we could potentially encounter while birding in the Gorge, with Bald Eagles being among the largest.

Trip Destination- Edwards Point

When- March 13; 8:30 AM EST through 11:30 AM EST

Where - Edwards Point trails entrance off of Edwards Point Road (more specific coordinates to come)

Costs: Free! Spots are limited to 16 participants per trip. Please consider donating to support our conservation work.

Age Restrictions: 12 and up

What to Bring- Please wear closed toe shoes and long pants; we’ll be doing an intermediate 4-mile hike (2 miles each way). Please bring water and feel free to bring binoculars (optional). TRGT will also have extra binoculars.

What to Expect- The group will meet off Edwards Point Road then hike to the point where TRGT staff will set up a spotting scope and binoculars to observe the adults visiting their nest and feeding young. As with any other wildlife, they don’t always "read the script," so we never know what we’ll find until we arrive. Thanks to our staff scouting ahead of time, we’re confident the eagles will be in the area.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please bring water, wear weather appropriate clothing, and close toed hiking boots or shoes. Please wear shoes you can get a little muddy or wet, such as waterpoof hiking shoes or rubber boots. Also, we highly encourage you to bring a pair of binoculars if you have some! TRGT will have binoculars if you are not able to bring your own.

This events are free to the public. Please consider donating to TRGT so we can continue this important work.
