Tom DiMaria loved soccer. He loved to play it, coach it, ref it, and watch it. From an early age, Tom excelled in the sport which earned him a position with Quincy College as a goalie. He was a celebrated NAIA Champion, in addition to being a two-time member of the NAIA All-Tournament team. After college, Tom was a member of the Midwest Olympic pool. He continued his career in the St. Bart's League and went on to play for the St. Louis Frogs professional team. After his playing days, Tom coached at Harris Stowe College and Ritenour High School. He also refereed at the collegiate level for 16 years. Tom shared his knowledge and passion for the game with both his children and grandchildren. He spent countless hours at the fields coaching his kids to many CYC, SLYSA, Mid-West, and State championships with both Busch Soccer Club and St. Louis Scott Gallagher. In 2015, Tom was inducted into the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame. Since his retirement, he was happiest being on the sidelines proudly rooting on his grandchildren and passing out dollar bills for the goals scored! While Tom’s presence will be greatly missed, his family would be honored to have his legacy live on in others who share his commitment, passion, and love for the game. ❤️
