Join ForeverGreen Trails for a Trails & Tales guided walk that brings Pierce County’s trails to life through storytelling, local history, and culture. Explore the outdoors, connect with your community, and experience how trails shape a healthier, more connected region.
Our 1.3 mile walk will begin at Jack Hyde Park at 3PM, heading north as we learn about the history of Tacoma's waterfront, the vision for its future, and collaborative plans that the City and Parks Tacoma have for its continued development, including parks and public spaces along it.
We will be joined by community advocates supporting the parks bond measure that Tacomans are voting on (ballots due April 28th).
Following the walk, participants are invited to gather at Katie Downs Tavern nearby for socializing, so bring a friend!
Parking is available on the opposite side of Ruston Way. The park is accessed under the Ruston Way ramp to the south or via the crosswalk to the north (and then the trail):
