About This Event
Each fall, Trefoil Society luncheons are held in each of the Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians' regions to honor a woman who exemplifies the spirit of Girl Scouting. The event pays tribute to a distinguished woman from each area who has exemplified herself as a leader in her community and who upholds the traditions and embodiment of the Girl Scout Law.
This year's honoree for the Appalachian Highlands region is Vice Mayor Jenny Brock.
Jenny Brock is an educator and civic leader in Northeast Tennessee who has served Johnson City as a Commissioner, Vice Mayor, and Mayor, and previously served on the Johnson City School Board. Throughout her career, she has focused on building family and youth-friendly communities, improving the built environment, and ensuring safe access to recreational and civic spaces for all.
A visible advocate for recreation, wellness, and youth development, Jenny has led and supported signature community initiatives, including the annual Turkey Trot, Candy Land Christmas Trees, and a champion for designating Buffalo Mountain as a Tennessee State Natural Area. She is deeply committed to creating lasting legacies for young people.
For more than 17 years, Jenny served as a First Tee Head Coach, mentoring hundreds of girls, and boys in character development activities through the game of golf. In recognition of this work, she was named the 2024 PGA of America Tri-Cities Person of the Year in Golf.
The foundation of Jenny’s understanding of servant leadership began as a young student in her experiences as a Brownie and Girl Scouts.
