About This Event
Each fall, Trefoil Society luncheons are held in each of the Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians' regions to honor a woman who exemplifies the spirit of Girl Scouting. The event pays tribute to a distinguished woman from each area who has exemplified herself as a leader in her community and who upholds the traditions and embodiment of the Girl Scout Law.
This year's honoree for the Tennessee Valley and North Georgia region is Marie Webb.
Marie Webb serves as senior vice president and chief human resources officer for Chattanooga-based BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, a company of more than 6,500 employees serving more than 3.3 million members in the state and across the country.
Webb is responsible for leading the strategic direction and performance of all human resources functions at BlueCross. This includes initiatives that drive innovation and performance, and support employee career development and engagement across the organization. Webb has additional responsibilities to strengthen alignment and support for BlueCross values and inclusive culture.
The company has consistently earned multiple best workplace awards at the national, state, and local levels. That includes receiving the top ranking in Forbes America’s Best-in-State Employers in Tennessee as well as recognition on their lists of Best Large Employers, Best Employers for Women, and Best Employers for Diversity.
Webb joined BlueCross in 2025. Prior to this, she served as senior vice president of human resources & chief talent & inclusion officer at EPB in Chattanooga, where she led the company’s evolution into a technology-focused organization. Her leadership in this role included implementing new HR technology platforms, strengthening data governance, and championing a culture of engagement and innovation.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Denison University and a master’s in human resource development from Xavier University.
