Presented by Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians

2024 Trefoil Society Luncheon - Appalachian Highlands

About This Event

Each fall, Trefoil Society luncheons are held in each of the Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians' regions to honor a woman who exemplifies the spirit of Girl Scouting. The event pays tribute to a distinguished woman from each area who has exemplified herself as a leader in her community and who upholds the traditions and embodiment of the Girl Scout Law.

This year's honoree for the Appalachian Highlands region is Judge Sharon M. Green. Judge Green includes her Girl Scout Brownie pin as one of those treasures that she has kept in a special place since she was seven years old. After graduating from the University of Tennessee College of Law, she began the private practice of law in Johnson City and focused primarily on the representation of children and families. Since 2002, she has presided over the Johnson City Juvenile Court which conducts judicial proceedings involving children and families with the focus on the best interest of each child. She serves by appointment of the Governor on the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth, a nonpartisan agency that ensures the policies of the state promote and protect the health, well-being, and development of children and youth.
