About This Event

Each fall, Trefoil Society luncheons are held in each of the Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians' regions to honor a woman who exemplifies the spirit of Girl Scouting. The event pays tribute to a distinguished woman from each area who has exemplified herself as a leader in her community and who upholds the traditions and embodiment of the Girl Scout Law.

This year's honoree for the Tennessee Valley and North Georgia region is Dr. Rebecca Ashford. Dr. Ashford is the President of Chattanooga State Community College and has served in this role since 2017. Dr. Ashford is a member of the Chattanooga Area Chamber Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. She serves on a number of other boards including Enterprise Center, the McNabb Center Board of Directors and Executive Committee, the River City Company, Chattanooga Tourism Co., the Southeast Tennessee Development District, the Blood Assurance Board of Directors, the Austin Hatcher Foundation, and the Rotary Club of Chattanooga. In 2022, she was named a Greater Chattanooga Woman of Distinction. She is a graduate of Leadership Tennessee Class VII and completed the Aspen New President’s Fellowship in 2022.
