About This Event
Come out to enjoy the fall leaves and explore nature! Join Tar River Land Conservancy for a fall hike led by Alvin Braswell, renowned biologist and retired Deputy Director of the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. The hike will lead us through hardwood forest to the Flat River, a tributary of Falls Lake. View a historic railroad, and possible future Greenway location. Learn about the ecology of the area and the work of Tar River Land Conservancy and our partners to preserve these sites for wildlife habitat, scenic beauty and clean water.
The hike will be approximately 1.5 miles through steep terrain, be sure to wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear for your safety. With the steepness of this route, hikers may find bringing a hiking stick to be helpful. We ask that you bring any water and snacks that you would like to have.
We request that pets are left home, other than registered service animals.
This is a free hike, though donations are appreciated.
For more information, contact Noah Compton at info@tarriver.org / (919) 496-5902
