Himalayan Sanskrit Tradition of Sages and Siddhas
Join His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda, a Himalayan siddha monk and Sanskritist, assisted by nun Sri Swami Asimananda, for a sacred Monday evening centred on the theme of how to study from a bona-fide spiritual tradition safeguarded by an unbroken lineage of masters and adepts.
Experience a discourse on learning from the adepts of ancient, unbroken meditation lineages of Himalayan-Tibetan tradition, and the value of taking a formal initiation through a spiritual ceremony as a means of beginning a structured daily practice.
His Holiness will also elaborate on the three paths based on authentic Sanskrit literature: devotion, yoga, and knowledge, and explain which major path requires initiation from a lineage from the very beginning and for which path initiation can wait until the daily practice has taken hold.
Our evening will open with sublime Sanskrit chanting by His Holiness, followed by:
- Discourse: Listen to teachings from the indigenous Sanskrit tradition on how to recognize and study with unbroken meditation lineages, and receive formal initiation from adepts and masters who safeguard the continuity of bona-fide teachings
- Blessing Line: New attendees will receive personal hands-on blessings and share greetings with His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri, assisted by Sri Swami Asimananda Giri.
A light vegetarian supper will be served alongside and during the blessing line.

About His Holiness
His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda is a Himalayan siddha monk, who hails from unbroken lineages of the combined heritage of rishi sages and nath meditation adepts. He has directly learnt the Himalayan Kriyayoga meditation system from Tryambaknāth, (popularly known as Mahavatar Babaji).
His Holiness is developing Hansavedas Sambhala (online coursework) based on the teachings from Jñanā-gañja, a siddha enclave commonly known as Sambhala located in Tibet, east of Limpiadhura Pass bordering India.
He is among the very few adepts outside of India who has been awarded the degree of DLitt et Phil (Mahāmahopādhyāya) by the erstwhile President of the Association of Indian Universities and by the Sanskrit scholars of Calcutta, India. The degree was conferred in recognition of his meditative interpretation, scholarly analysis, and ability to articulate the philosophical nuances of Sanskrit literature.
