About This Event
Far too many caring and capable people have found themselves serving in the highest positions of nonprofit leadership wondering if they’re ‘doing it right’ while struggling to feel like they are maximizing their impact. It’s not their fault! Most nonprofit executive leaders and Board Members have never received training on what it takes to be a successful in their role, much less how to work best together as an executive leadership team.
This two-hour workshop, designed for members of executive staff and Boards of Directors, will equip attendees with knowledge, frameworks, and practices essential to creating and sustaining a high-functioning executive leadership team. Together, we’ll unpack and explore concepts of role (what, exactly is the Board’s job vs. the ED’s?!), rules for engagement (how do foster dynamics that support challenging conversations?), and how to avoid (or at least see coming!) common pitfalls that prevent us from bringing our best selves to service. And, if all that sounds a bit heavy, don’t fret. We’ll frequently practice one of the most important fundamentals of team dynamics – taking our work seriously, but not ourselves.
