About This Event
Making Strides for Special Kids is a 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1 Mile Sprint to raise funds for the Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL), a cooperative educational system working with school districts throughout the county to serve students facing physical, emotional, and other learning challenges. The funding SEDOL Foundation hopes to raise through the 12th annual Making Strides for Special Kids event is used to directly enrich the educational, vocational, and social opportunities for children with disabilities in Lake County.
This event will be like no other. In addition to the 5K run/walk and kids’ sprint, we will feature a capable/handicapable event. Capable runners and walkers will partner with special needs runners/walkers/wheelchair participants to experience a “race” – many for the first time.
