Give back to rescued animals and have fun doing it! We are accepting applications for new volunteers.
The minimum age for all volunteer positions is 14 with a parent or 16 on your own.
Animal Care: These shifts involve assisting our staff with tasks like cleaning, feeding, socializing, and providing enrichment for the animals. Because this role requires more in-depth training compared to other volunteer opportunities, those interested in working with our animal care team should be prepared to make a regular commitment and volunteer at least twice a month for a minimum of three months.
Tours: Charlie’s Acres regularly hosts guided community tours on Saturdays and Sundays. Volunteer tour assistants lend an extra pair of eyes to ensure safe and respectful interactions with the animals. Not only is this helpful to us, but this is also a great way to familiarize yourself with the animals, their stories, and the educational mission of Charlie’s Acres.
Special Events: Our special events and fundraisers often have volunteer opportunities. This may include event prep, acting as a docent, food and drink service, ensuring safe and respectful animal interactions, cleanup, and more. Please note that some events may require volunteers to be 21+.
Garden shifts involve planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting in our vegetable gardens. This is a good option for temporary volunteers, or those unable to come on a regular schedule.
Volunteer Your Services! If you have a service or skill you'd like to donate, we can use assistance with: auto maintenance, landscaping, web design, veterinary services, catering, grant writing, artwork, and MORE! Contact us at info@charliesacres.org.
