About This Event
Join us for a powerful showcase of Becky Gottsegen’s striking ceramic busts, honoring the resilience and humanity of exonerated individuals from Louisiana’s prison system. Through meticulous craftsmanship and deep storytelling, Gottsegen brings visibility to those who endured wrongful incarceration, capturing their journeys in stunning detail. This exhibition is both an artistic achievement and a poignant reflection on justice, identity, and redemption.
The exhibition and accompanying catalog share the stories of individuals who spent decades behind bars before being exonerated by Innocence Project New Orleans (IPNO).
Made possible through the generous support of Tricia Day & Joe Simmons, Mary Ann Sternberg, and Winifred & Kevin Reilly.
The Innocence Project New Orleans is one of more than 70 independent organizations worldwide working to free the wrongfully convicted, fight unjust sentencing, and support reentry. Since 2001, they have exonerated 47 innocent people and helped 28 others serving excessive sentences. Beyond legal representation, they advocate for systemic reform to prevent future injustices.
