Presented by Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library

GRAND OPENING: Tralfamadore: An Immersive Slaughterhouse-Five Experience

About This Event

For decades, readers have encountered the unique and beautiful world of Tralfamadore on the page, a place where time exists all at once and perspective changes everything. Now, KVML is working to bring that idea into the physical world.

Created in partnership with engineering students from the Purdue University EPICS Program, this exhibition will transform Vonnegut’s Tralfamadore into a walk-through experience that blends literature, art, and engineering. Visitors will step into an environment designed to explore time, memory, and moral imagination while reflecting on the human questions that shaped Vonnegut’s work.

The exhibition will also connect these ideas to the historical experiences that influenced Vonnegut most deeply, including his time as a soldier during World War II and the bombing of Dresden, events that ultimately gave rise to Slaughterhouse-Five.
