Out of Many, One Community

Washington English Center welcomes immigrants and refugees with the vision that all newcomers deserve access to the education and support they need to achieve their goals. Last year, WEC taught over 1,900 immigrants from 105 different countries as they learned to read, write, listen to, and speak English with greater fluency and confidence.

This year's Spring Event—Out of Many, One Community—will bring together the students, alumni, volunteers, donors, and partners who make our work possible. We do so with the belief that our community is made stronger, more resilient, and better because of our diversity of backgrounds and experiences. Out of Many, One Community is a proud celebration of newcomers improving their English, finding meaningful work, and engaging more fully in their newly-adopted homes.
