About This Event

Wednesday, April 8, 2026, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

CaringMatters, 518 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg, MD 20877

Presenters: Lisa Cook and Luke Dorris, Masters in Social Work Interns

Are you grieving how life with your loved one has changed because of your loved one’s cognitive or physical decline? When someone is still physically present but your connection has fundamentally changed, that is referred to as ambiguous loss.

Dr. Pauline Boss, who pioneered research on ambiguous loss, describes it as one of the most difficult forms of grief because there is no clear closure. Join us for this interactive workshop offering opportunities to connect with others facing similar challenges.

In this workshop, participants will:
● Explore Ambiguous Loss
● Discuss Impacts of Ambiguous Loss
● Share and Practice Coping Strategies

If you have any questions or would like to request additional information, please email Luke Dorris at luked@caringmatters.org or Lisa Cook at lisac@caringmatters.com
