About This Event

Join us for an engaging conversation with Tucson-based writer Caroline Tracey as she discusses her acclaimed book Salt Lakes: An Unnatural History with journalist Rachel Glickhouse. Connect with the author and get a book signed after the talk.

An unforgettable coming-of-age story and an exquisite work of nature writing, Salt Lakes explores the remarkable ecology of the world's salt lakes and the growing threats they face from climate change and water diversion. Drawing on travels across the American West, Mexico, Argentina, and Kazakhstan, Tracey examines what the loss of these unique landscapes means for wildlife, surrounding communities, and our shared future. Along the way, she reflects on her own search for identity and belonging, weaving together science, conservation, and her own queer love story.
