Art with the Apes

Join us for a truly unforgettable experience at the Center for Great Apes! Participants will learn how to draw our orangutan resident, Jethro, in an art lesson taught by former Walt Disney Co. Ink & Paint Artist, Sharon K. Vincent Smith. Sharon spent decades in animation—including working on Disney classics like Oliver & Company and The Little Mermaid and training new artists at Disney-MGM Studios (now Hollywood Studios). Now retired, she brings her incredible talent and love for wildlife to our sanctuary for this special event!

After the art lesson, enjoy a guided sanctuary tour where you’ll meet Jethro (the "art muse") alongside his companion Sandra and their caregiver. Watch Jethro and Sandra create their very own masterpiece live! One lucky guest will even win this original ape painting as a door prize. Additional raffle tickets for unique items will also be available.
