About This Event
Paddle with a Purpose: White River Canoe Cleanup
Date: Saturday, October 18, 2025
Meeting Location: Newfields 100 Acres Park (1850 W 38th St, Indianapolis, IN 46208)
Time: 12:00pm – 4:30pm
Join us for a unique and impactful way to help keep the White River clean—from the water! Volunteers will paddle down the White River, removing trash, debris, and illegal dumping along the way. This canoe-based cleanup is a great opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the river while making a difference for our environment and local wildlife.
This event requires participants to navigate the river by canoe while collecting debris. We encourage those who are comfortable canoeing to register. If you have experience paddling and can handle a few hours on the water, we’d love to have you join us.
Why Volunteer?
- Experience the river up close while making a tangible impact
- Help protect wildlife and maintain a clean waterway
- Meet fellow nature lovers and conservation advocates
- Enjoy a scenic paddle while giving back to your community
What to Bring:
- Clothes and shoes that can get wet and muddy
- Hat and sun protection (sunscreen, sunglasses)
- Reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
- Dry bag for personal items (optional)
Canoes, paddles, life jackets, and cleanup supplies will be provided.
Shuttle Service Provided
Frank’s Paddlesports Livery will provide shuttle service from the take out location back to Newfields for all participants.
If you're ready to make a difference, sign up today!
