About This Event

Paddle with a Purpose: Fall Creek Canoe Cleanup

Date: Friday, June 12th, 2026
Meeting Location: Indy Urban Wilderness Trail (600 Porto Alegre St, Indianapolis, IN 46202)
Time: 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Join us for a unique and impactful way to help keep Fall Creek clean—from the water! Volunteers will paddle down Fall Creek towards its confluence with the White River, removing trash, debris, and illegal dumping along the way. This canoe-based cleanup is a great opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the river while making a difference for our environment and local wildlife.

Join us afterwards for a bonfire and cookout! We'll have hot dog's (provided by Kincaid's Meat Market) and beverages for everyone to enjoy after we're done cleaning the creek.

This event requires participants to navigate the creek by canoe while collecting debris. We encourage those who are already comfortable canoeing to register. If you have experience paddling a canoe and can handle a few hours on the water, we’d love to have you join us.

Why Volunteer?

  • Experience the creek up close, while making a tangible impact
  • Help protect wildlife and maintain a clean waterway
  • Meet fellow nature lovers and conservation advocates
  • Enjoy a scenic paddle while giving back to your community
  • Join us afterwards for a bonfire, with hot dogs and beverages!

What to Bring:

  • Clothes and shoes that can get wet and muddy
  • Hat and sun protection (sunscreen, sunglasses)
  • Reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
  • Dry bag for personal items (optional)

Canoes, paddles, life jackets, and cleanup supplies will be provided.

Shuttle Service Provided

Frank’s Paddlesports Livery will provide shuttle service from the meeting location to the cleanup launch site for all participants. Our cleanup will conclude at the original meeting location.
