Whose Nine? The Unscripted 9th Birthday Benefit Bash

Nine years ago, Unscripted set out to bring healing, empowerment, and connection through improv. Now we're throwing ourselves a party, and we want you in the room for it.

Get ready for a high energy, competition style improv show, our performers will battle it out scene by scene, racking up points and going for the win (and you can help!) Round out the night with awards, games, food, dessert, and an open bar.

In our show, the points do matter. As Nashville's only improv nonprofit, we watch this work change people in real time: 100% of Improv for Anxiety participants say it helps them manage anxiety outside of class. Grief turns to joy at Gilda's Club. Shame turns to playful resilience for immigrant and refugee youth at Urban Nations Ministry. In a time of social disconnection and polarization, we meet people where they are, building trust, resilience, and joy. We believe improv shouldn't just be a pay to play experience reserved for a few, and every ticket and every dollar you give helps us keep it that way.

It's always been about the people we serve. Over the past nine years, we've partnered with nearly 75 community organizations. Last year alone, we partnered with 28 organizations to reach 2,375 people, with 76% of our programs offered completely free. Now, more calls are coming from community partners and community members: expanding our programs for older adults and people with disabilities, providing programs and support for memory care communities affected by Alzheimer's, and offering opportunities to veterans and youth. Every inquiry is a chance to bring more joy and resilience to our community, and we can only say yes with your support.

Our goal is $9,000 for 9 years, and giving is part of the show. Throughout the night, you'll have playful ways to pitch in tied right into the competition, think surprise challenges, bonus rounds, and a little friendly rivalry between teams, all built right into the game.
