About This Event
Have you wanted to try camping with your family but do not know where to start? Join us for Family Camp Night! This program is ideal for beginners: Wind Wolves Preserve will have camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, and lanterns) available for check out (no cost), and our team will be onsite to assist with setup. Additionally, staff will be leading family-friendly activities throughout the program, including a guided hike and reptile presentation. Space is limited - advance reservations are required! Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
YOU MAY SIGN UP FOR ONE SITE ONLY, BRINGING UP TO 5 MEMBERS OF YOUR FAMILY (ONE FAMILY PER SITE). If you are interested in camping with friends or extended family, we recommend you inquire about other dates for free camping on the preserve by calling 661-858-1115.
LOCATION
Participants will stay in the San Emigdo Campground (click HERE for a map and more information). The campground is set up for tent camping only (no RVs/trailers).
ITINERARY
Saturday, October 3rd
- Check in and set up | 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
- Free time | 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
- Welcome and guided night hike | 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Sunday, October 4th
- Reptile presentation | 9:00 am - 10:00 am
- Pack up and gear return | 10:00 am - 11:00 am
NOTES
- Participants are expected to stay for the duration of the program (families cannot sign up for just one day of programming).
- The preserve will close at 5:00 pm, at which time the entrance gates will be locked. Late arrivals will not be permitted.
- After you register, you will receive a Google Form to collect additional information about your group, including number of people and gear requests.
This program is funded by the Outdoor Equity Grants Program, created through AB 209 and administered by California State Parks, Office of Grants and Local Services.
