Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025
2:30 – 4 PM MST
Lewis & Clark Library
120 S Last Chance Gulch St
Helena, MT 59601
Join us for a conversation with author Lorissa Rinehart to celebrate the launch of Winning the Earthquake (St. Martin’s Press, November 2025), the first major biography of one of Montana's most impactful figures, Jeannette Rankin — the pioneering suffragist, activist and first woman elected to the U.S. Congress. The nationwide series of book talks and events, sponsored by the Jeannette Rankin Foundation, includes a special celebration at the Lewis & Clark Library with Rinehart and Foundation for Montana History CEO Charlene Porsild. It will be a powerful opportunity for the community to reflect on Rankin’s fearless leadership and enduring legacy.
Founded with a bequest from Jeannette Rankin’s estate, the Rankin Foundation carries Rankin’s mission forward by awarding unrestricted Scholar Grants to nontraditional women students who are transforming their futures through education.
Copies of Winning the Earthquake will be available at the event and Montana Book Company. Space is limited. Please RSVP your attendance by clicking RSVP on this page and be entered to win a signed copy of Winning the Earthquake at the event!
