Women of the Land Retreat- Mason Mountain WMA

Registration is sold out

About This Event

Reading the Land

Women of the Land is a program designed to empower women to become active land managers. It emphasizes skill-based outdoor recreation, learning by doing, and forging relationships with both conservation professionals and peers. This retreat style weekend is designed to allow participants to emmerse themselves in the outdoors and grow as land stewards. It is highly suggested that participants have attended one of our "From the Ground Up" workshops prior to attending this event, however it is not required.

Over the course of the weekend we will focus on learning to read the land by exploring land stewardship practices, plant ID, bird ID, habitat successional stages, grazing management, conserving wildlife resources, and much more! This event is open to ladies who are landowners as well as non-landowners. Urban, suburban, and rural residents.

Lodging and melas will be provided.  Lodging is bunk style with shared bedrooms.  There will be ample time spent outdoors and in the field.

You do not have to be a Texas Wildlife Association member to register for this event, however you will receive a discount on registration if you have a current associate membership or higher!
