About This Event
Saturday, May 30th | 10 am to 12:30 pm at the WREN Gallery
Cost: $45
This class explores the dynamic, often surprising nature of color. The class will explore how to see color and use it more effectively in your creative work.
Participants will engage in hands-on color exercises to explore the dynamics of color, value, optical illusion, contrast, shade and contrasting combinations. Using cut paper and painted swatches, students will investigate how colors interact and shift depending on context. Historical approaches and color mixing methods from classical painting traditions will also be examined to provide a comprehensive understanding of color.
About the instructor: Adhi Two Owls is a professional artist, educator, and craftsperson with over 30 years of experience in the visual arts. She holds a wide knowledge of traditional techniques and contemporary practices, working across media including drawing, painting, sculpture, and fine craft. Her approach blends technical skill, creative exploration, and thoughtful engagement with materials and ideas. She is committed to helping students develop confidence in their artistic voice through supportive and hands-on instruction.
Please note: this class requires a minimum of 4 participants to run. If minimum enrollment is not reached by Tuesday, May 26th, the class will be rescheduled, and registrations will be refunded.
