New Moon Hike and Stargazing

Discover Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge in a whole new light – or rather, under the mesmerizing darkness of the new moon! Join us for a short guided Night Hike through the refuge, where you'll witness the enchantment of the nocturnal world and explore the cosmos through a telescope.

Led by our educators, this approximately 1/2-mile hike will take you on a captivating adventure through the refuge's moonlit trails. Along the way, you'll learn captivating facts about the nocturnal animals that call Cedar Run home and gain insight into their behaviors and adaptations for life in the dark.

But the adventure doesn't end there! We'll also spend some time gazing at the stars and planets through a telescope. Our educators will help you navigate the night sky, pointing out constellations, planets, and other celestial wonders that shine brightly against the backdrop of the new moon.

This program begins at 8:00pm and runs 1hr+ depending on our findings, not to exceed 90 minutes. Ages 8+ please. $15/adult, $10/child. 20 participants maximum. Advanced registration required.
