ARAC Accessible Arts Workshop ft. Above & Beyond with U
August 27, 2026 | 5 – 7 PM | Virtual
Join ARAC's Grant Advising Team to learn more about the Operating Support Grant Program's Accessible Arts Pilot Program and how to create an accessible arts experience featuring Jenna Udenberg, founder of the non-profit, Above & Beyond With U, which works to increase accessibility and inclusion in Minnesota and beyond. Receive insight into how to create an accessible artistic experience, regardless if you're an ARAC grant program applicant as this workshop is open to the public.
First-time and current applicants are encouraged to attend to gain insight into the overall grant process and expenses associated with providing a disability-related accessible artistic experience. Session features extended Q&A and a deep dive into grant program objectives. The session will be recorded and shared with registrants. Come prepared with questions and be curious about how accessible arts experiences can enrich the lives of your community!
Guest Speaker | Meet Jenna!
Jenna Udenberg is on a mission to make the world a more inclusive place for people with disabilities, especially her home community on the North Shore of Lake Superior. A wheelchair user from an early age, she understands the physical and intangible societal barriers facing those with disabilities. She wants to change attitudes, approaches and accessibility so that the North Shore of Minnesota becomes a destination for people with disabilities and a model of welcome other areas can emulate. An expert and advocate for change, she works to remove the chasm between the non-disabled and disabled worlds.
Jenna is a lifelong resident of the North Shore of Minnesota and is a former music educator of 19 years. She has used a manual wheelchair since the age of 8 due to Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. Jenna is a 2017 Blandin Foundation Community Leader, a 2020 Bush Fellow, and a 2025 Shannon Leadership Institute Fellow. Writing for the Lake County Press in her column, Local View from 4 foot 2, inspires vulnerability and the sharing of lived experiences from the seated perspective. Within My Spokes: A Tapestry of Pain, Growth & Freedom is Jenna’s published memoir which you can find on the A&BWU website, on Amazon or wherever you find your books.
In her free time, you can find Jenna outdoors on paved trails or fishing with friends, playing board and card games, as well as coaching the Robo Dweebs, a LEGO robotics team. Jenna serves on the MN DNR Panfish Workgroup and the Parks and Trails Legacy Advisory Committee as a DNR appointee.
