De Benneville Pines $50,000 Water Tank Challenge

Update June 27, 2017 - Help us hit the next milestone for fundraising by donating this week!

Thanks to everyone who contributed in the first week of our Water Tank Challenge we're on our way to a new tank. But we've got a long way to go. So this week, I'm going to ask you to donate in honor of my 22nd anniversary at camp. Every contribution matters, whether you give $22 or $2,200.

Thanks for helping secure our water storage future! - Janet James

The Challenge to Secure Camp's Water Storage Future

In the past five years, we have replaced all the waterlines in Camp. This is our final task to secure Camp’s water source...and we need to do it by August 2017 or we have to go back to the drawing board with the US Forest Service.

With your help now, we can:

  • Add a second tank to capture mountain spring water so we have ample water for drinking and swimming at camp
  • Install a bypass system so that we can perform tank maintenance without shutting down camp
  • Add a hydrant by the tank, so the USFS can easily access water in case of fire.

Right now we have a $50,000 challenge from a wonderful camp lover at the UU Fellowship of San Dieguito. That means that every dollar you donate will be matched dollar for dollar!

Help replace our aging tank today and your dollars will be matched!

  • Make a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA;
  • Give stock/securities;
  • write a check;
  • or contribute by credit card below!

For stock donation or other support, email development@uucamp.org or call Jacki Weber, development director at (310) 849-5835.

Thank you for considering making an investment in camp’s future with reliable water source at de Benneville Pines!
