Dear Friend,

As we look toward the close of the year, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for how far the Lompoc Theatre Project has come. What began as a dream to save a historic building has become one of the most significant community revitalization efforts in North Santa Barbara County.

This spring we entered Phase II of construction and have now completed seismic upgrades and roof replacement on the theatre’s office building. Work is now underway on the auditorium and fly tower, which will be finished this coming spring. From there we will begin restoring the dressing rooms, restrooms, covered courtyard with its outdoor bar, the historic Land Office, and our new Backstage Theater. These steps bring us closer to welcoming live performances back to this stage for the first time in more than sixty years.

This month we also received extraordinary news. The Chumash Foundation has awarded the Lompoc Theatre a $500,000 matching grant. When we meet this match, we will have fully funded our Phase II renovations. Every dollar given now is doubled, and every gift moves us closer to reopening in time for the Theatre’s 2027/28 centennial season.

As someone who cares deeply about the vitality of our community, I hope you will consider joining us as a donor. A gift of $100, $250, or $500 will have twice the impact thanks to the match. If you are able to give at a higher level, your generosity will help accelerate the pace of this historic transformation and bring our reopening to life even sooner.

When the doors reopen, the Lompoc Theatre will once again be a place where our community gathers to learn, celebrate, create, and connect. It will be a cultural cornerstone that strengthens downtown, expands access to arts education, and inspires the next generation.

Thank you for considering a year end gift to this important project. Your support today will echo through Lompoc for generations.

With gratitude,

Mark Herrier
