Beginner I (continuation of Fall 2025 semester) with Gustavo Emos

Course Goals: This introductory course is designed to develop basic skills in comprehension, reading, writing, speaking, and grammar, offering a solid foundation for learning Yiddish. The course provides a welcoming and structured environment for beginners to start their Yiddish language journey.

Course Tools: We will cover Units 3–5 of Colloquial Yiddish by Lily Kahn, supplemented with additional reading and listening materials provided by the instructor. The textbook can be purchased here; audio files, here.

Additional Info: This course is intended for students who have completed the previous Beginner I course or have equivalent basic knowledge of Yiddish and the Yiddish alphabet.
