Course Goals: A beginners language course primarily based on the textbook In Eynem, starting with Chapter 4. This class is a continuation of the fall semester, but is also open to any beginner student who has already taken one or two Yiddish classes, knows the alef-beys and a bit of vocabulary, and can conjugate regular verbs in the present tense. We will also learn Yiddish songs, read extracts of stories and plays, and look at some archival materials like posters, guidebooks, and advertisements. Purchase of In Eynem (available here) is recommended but not required — all materials will be provided by the instructor.
